Today, my solo cup is filled with Treading Water.
The good news is that my head is above the water, the not so good news is that I am stuck in the same spot. Some, like the Navy SEALS perhaps, might say this is a true testament of endurance and strength, while others would say, "swim or get out of the pool." Of course I am not holding a concrete block or being pulled under by a hardcore instructor; regardless, I conclude that both are an important part of being successful as a solopreneur. The stationary position has given me a better perspective on creating and tweaking processes with my existing clients, and the awareness of my lack of directional movement has allowed me to re-prioritize new business development. Ironically, this reminds me of a Jillian Michaels quote, "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable!"
Either way you look at it, both require perseverance and that is where I am today.
