Today, my solo cup is filled with a Dash.
My sister attended a memorial service last week and told me that the minister gave her a renewed perspective on life. She said that he talked about the "dash" on a tombstone. The one in between your birthdate and the date you passed on. That "dash" represents your life. It is the significance you wish to leave behind, the things you want to accomplish, the choices you make, the people you love, and so on. Think about what you want your "dash" to include and do it! It's not too late to make a change today. You have until...others are looking at your "dash" with a date after it. And none of us know when that will be.
I've been thinking about how I can keep this at the forefront of my mind each day as an inspiration to do what I want and be who I am. Came up with simply writing my name and birthdate on a piece of paper, and putting a "dash" after it. Make your "dash" count for YOU!
