Today, my solo cup is filled with Symmetry.
I'm just a squirrel trying to find a nut, actually. Drinking, drinking, sipping, chugging, drinking. Pretty much sums it up. The final day of liquids for this cat and I am thrilled. Not only because I can return to solid foods tomorrow but because the finish line is so close I can taste it (boiled eggs with pepper, mixed nuts, fresh greens with balsamic vinegar....). You get me. Although this journey was short, it was monumental and I'm proud of my accomplishment. (-8lbs proud).
As the week progressed my level of clarity strengthened and I've created a new promotional offering, (S.P.A - Sensible Platform Audit) that I believe will drum up some new business in the near future. I've created a sample audit report as a starting point and will have a flyer within a few days. In review of my short term goal established on Monday, let's cross check to measure progress.
Short Term Goal: Devise a promotion that will include a package service offering that I can solicit to local businesses to gain new clientele and deepen my experience as a content creator, copyeditor, social media manager and website developer. CHECK!
Step One: Figure out what I will offer and establish price point. CHECK!
SENSIBLE PLATFORM AUDIT FOR DIGITAL MEDIUMS - $222
Step Two: Establish a sample audit for peer review. CHECK! See Snapshot below.
Step Three: Generate a flyer for distribution. IN PROGRESS!
Step Four: Continue coming up with new ideas and GO FOR IT!
Hope you enjoyed the journey with me. Until next week, try and try again!
Today, my solo cup is filled with Mental Stamina.
I am still on the detox marathon and am not going to lie that today was a bit more difficult. I feel great but just want a piece of celery or something solid. Regardless of my thoughts of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I remain committed. Tomorrow is the final day of only liquids, so the light is in the near distance and I will achieve. (and then eat a giant salad on Saturday for breakfast!)
The SPA (Sensible Platform Audit) package for digital platforms is still in the works and I hope to share my outline tomorrow. I did determine my price point at $222. Working out the audit checklist and restrictions now. Keep your eye on the ball and stay focused.
Today, my solo cup is filled with Remedy.
It's Day 3 of the detox and Day 1 of the liquid-only portion to this 7-Day cleanse. What can I say, I'm relaxed. I've mentally prepared myself for this journey and I'm in it to win it. Inspired by my dedication to nearly 60 hours without a glass of wine or a piece of cheese, I came up with a pretty neat idea to win new clients and offer something unique. But first, let me take a step back and build the story.
I started this 7-Day detox because the day spa that I frequent sold me on the concept. Not because of its price point or guarantee, but because of the first-hand results I witnessed in the glow and energy level of my treatment specialist. I was sold by her radiant smile and the sincerity that spilled from her lips about how she achieved it. She felt good and it showed. This was just the remedy I needed to jumpstart my system. Purchased!
Recalling yesterday and the short term goal I set forth, I made a connection. My goal is to devise a promotion that will include a package service offering that I can solicit to local businesses to gain new clientele and deepen my experience as a content creator, copyeditor, social media manager and website developer. Here is what I came up with as a starting point by allowing the past few days of life's experiences to converge.
S.P.A. (Sensible Platform Audit) Package for Digital Platforms
Limited Time Offer - $____
Deep Scrub of Digital Platform Content (up to 5)
Extractions (when needed)
*Maintenance Program (not included in LTO, pricing to be determined)
CJ Creative Solutions will scrub your digital platforms and provide a detailed list of suggested imperfections. We will work together to implement change and deliver a renewed brand with style and flair.
And to 'think' I simply pooled my recent events together and came up with a service that I hope will entice customers to indulge in pampering their image. Because we all know, "we are what we post."
A work in progress but I may be on to something here. What do you think?
Today, my solo cup is filled with Transparency.
I've deemed this week's blog posts a series of five, so if you're just tuning in - start on Monday. I thought it might be interesting to share my detox experience day by day, rather than just a single post at the onset and a final post upon completion. What about what's in between, eh. I mean that is the meat of it. Especially with this detox that has 3 liquid-only days smack dab in the middle. Is that a good thing? At this point, yes. I am looking forward to a big salad filled with mixed greens, fresh veggies, and some
grilled chicken on the side, as a final meal for a few days and in about an hours time.
So, what can I say about Day 2. Easy breezy. Piece of cake. No sweat.
In fact, my internal clock woke me up filled with energy and ready to go at 5:55 a.m. Anyone who knows me understands that this is just not normal. I love to sleep in and when I do have to get up before 7:30 - 8:00 a.m., it isn't easy nor is it welcomed. Points!
To maintain a connection to my purpose as a business professional and solopreneur, I thought I would use this space (and week) to share a short term goal and what I plan to do to achieve it. Reporting on its progress each day. Then, if you are so inclined, you can chime in and make suggestions to help me along.
Short Term Goal: Devise a promotion that will include a package service offering that I can solicit to local businesses to gain new clientele and deepen my experience as a content creator, copyeditor, social media manager and website developer.
Resources: Experience, superb graphic designer on team, dedicated creative time each day, internet, top-notch colleagues that are always willing to help, and a gallon of distilled maple syrup lemon water.
Barriers: None - oh wait - possibly a multitude of restroom breaks but I can take my work with me.
Step One: Figure out what I will offer and establish price point.
Stop by tomorrow to see what I've come up with.
Have a nice dinner!
Today, my solo cup is filled with A Detoxifying Regiment.
Detoxifying is more than just a body cleanse. It's about change and having the desire to wipe the slate clean and start anew (well, kind of). If only it were that literal when it came to our bodies. Nonetheless, I have started a 7-Day detox and am committing to a very stringent diet during this time. I can have raw or juiced fruits and veggies, poultry and unsalted nuts for the first two days and then the next three will consist only of liquids (a rather strange concoction of pure maple syrup, fresh lemon juice and distilled water - and more water), and then followed up with a recap of the first two days on the back end.
In conjunction with my body detoxifying, I am going to focus on scrubbing my business and personal goals. In hopes that my revised objectives can be a true testament to, "We are what we eat." As I figure if my body is thriving on all the best foods - that are most natural to its' function and process, my goals will undoubtedly be optimized. This isn't rocket science and yet it has taken me almost 30 years to implement.
Let's see if the clarity of my writing improves or declines with each passing day, as an experiment.
Day 1 signing off..
Today, my solo cup is filled with Father's Day Sentiment.
This space has been specifically reserved for a compilation of Father's Day wishes to a few very special dads in my life, and all the others out there that mean so much to their families. First and foremost, I wish my dad the very best Father's Day. He lives quite a distance away so I won't be able to see him, but he knows I love him and I hope his day is filled with many blessings (and maybe a little Lambrusco - because he loves it). Secondly, I would like to wish my stepfather, Garry, a wonderful day filled with much laughter and countless blessings of restored health and well-being (and maybe a game of Scrabble, in which he will most assuredly win). Thirdly, I would like to wish my ex-husband and loving father of our children, Zo, a fantastic day filled with lots of hugs and hi-fives from our two beautiful children. Lastly, and certainly not least, I would like to wish my fiance', Jode, a very special day with his children (and me) as we all participate in the celebration of his nephew's wedding (who also happens to be a father). Thank you for all you've done and taught me along the way.

Today, my solo cup is filled with Change.
I turned our screened-in porch into a second workspace! I am a firm believer that a change in atmosphere can evoke new ideas and a renewed perspective. Because of this belief and my toying around with the idea of buying into a rented coop workspace agreement, I found a happy median - and it only cost me $129. Vibrant colors and fresh air have made me very happy today.
